Bogey Competition
Everyone was prepared for the forecasted bad weather in today's Bogey Competition, but it didn't turn out quite so bad with just a couple of light showers. There was a strong southerly wind blowing, but that didn't seem to worry the players at the top of the leader board and some excellent scores were returned. Eleven men and three ladies braved the conditions to play today.
The winner was Paul Hickey who defeated the course with a score of +6. Runner-up, with the lowest gross of the day (79) was Jeremy Twaits with another great score of +5. Third place went to Jason Allum with another good score of +4. All of these top three players are now playing off new handicaps!! Full result - click here.
This is one of the events for the season-long Order of Merit which, after four counting events, is now starting to take shape. Jason Allum heads the standings at the moment with 21pts. He is closely followed by three players (John Butcher, John Cooper & Paul Hickey) all on 19pts. Leading lady at the moment is Sian Soanes not too far adrift on 13pts.

Just one two recorded today from Dean Butler at the 17th. There was a roll-over from the last medal, so Dean wins that as well!!! Two's do seem a lot harder to come by these days on the new course!!
As we are now into the "summer medals", the Owen Millennium Trophy and Summer Medal Aggregate competitions are now under way. It's early days at the moment as you really need four medals to qualify, but I have created the latest standings using two scores from the last two medals. To see these, click on the links below.

The runners-up spot was decided on count-back with Paul Tebbutt just edging out Allan Trotman and Roy Whiting after each of them returned nett 74.
