A nice sunny day for the seniors competition today which was a Texas Scramble. Nine teams of 3 players competed for the prizes. The winning team was Raymond Bilton, Ken Croucher & Harry Jackson with a score of 57.8. Second place went to Geoff Denner, Malcolm Passey & John Butcher (59.2) followed by Jan Hinks, Mike Workman & John Clark (59.6).

Seniors Bowmaker Stableford
A good field of 30 players in 10 teams of 3 competed in today's Seniors Bowmaker Stableford competition. The runaway winners today with an excellent total of 85pts were the team of Chris Moore, Richard Hook & Richard Cross. Runners-up were Geoff Denner, Richard Aldred & Chris Piper (79pts) followed by John Clark, Mike Miller & Harry Jackson (76pts).

Seniors 123 Waltz Strokeplay
Nine teams of three played today in the Seniors 123-Waltz strokeplay competition. The winning team with a score of 130 were Richard Hook, Gordon Turner & Mike Workman. Six strokes further back were runners-up Bob Evans, Sian Soanes & Richard Aldred followed by John Clark, Derrick Perrin & Geoff Denner (137).

Captain's Cup
A lovely sunny day (but a chilly wind) for today's competition which was the Captain's Cup preceded by the new captain's drive-in. Dean Butler, Sian Soanes and Allan Trotman (deputising for new seniors captain Judy Willson) all hit super drives off the first tee watched by all today's competitors. The three captain's drive winners were Jason Allum, Harry Jackson and Jeremy Twaits.
A good field of twenty-seven played in the ensuing Stableford competition which was won by Allan Trotman with an excellent 38pts. Runner-up one point behind was Stuart Briginshaw followed by John Baron (36pts) in third position.

Afterwards, everyone gathered in the clubhouse for the charity raffle which, with the drive-in, raised in excess of £260 for the Air Ambulance.
A big thanks to everyone who played in this event and donated raffle prizes to support the new captains and the charity today. Thanks also to Diane McIntyre and Judy Willson for organising the raffle afterwards.

Seniors March Medal
A pleasant day for the seniors today although the cold wind still persists! Twenty-five players competed in two mixed divisions. The competition was calculated as a "Reductions Only" event today, so no handicap adjustments were made.
In division 1, Allan Trotman was the winner with a nett 74. Derrick Perrin was runner-up on 76 closely followed by Geoff Denner just one shot further back. Raymond Bilton carded the lowest gross.

In division 2, the clear winner by 4 strokes and the lowest gross was Richard Hook. Barry Heath grabbed the runners-up spot on count-back from Steve Vale after both returned nett 76.

March Medal
Sixteen players for today's competition, the first of the strokeplay medals of the year played in two divisions. A strong wind blowing today made scoring quite difficult.
In division 1, the winner was Tim Page with a respectable nett 74. Runner-up was John Baron just one stroke behind followed by Derrick Perrin who just pipped Chris Moore (lowest gross 86) on count-back.

The division 2 winner was Jason Allum (nett 73) also carding the lowest gross in this division. Runner-up was Phil Stubbs just ahead of Geoff Denner on count-back.

The two's pool has been rolling over since November, but today it was finally won!! Jason Allum (8th hole) and Steve Cobb (11th hole) share the "jackpot"!!!
