More nice weather for the Seniors Stableford today at the racecourse, although there was a stiff easterly breeze blowing to keep us all on our toes. Twenty players competed for the prizes.
The winner, with a score of 33pts was Steve Thompson. Runner-up was Paul Tebbutt on 32pts followed by John Butcher just one point further back.

Carole Scott Cup
Only a small field for the Carole Scott Cup played yesterday morning but those who played were rewarded with some glorious weather.
Andrew Mead continued to impress with his tally of 38pts (gross 77) to take the title. Runner-up was Jeremy Twaits on 36pts followed by Mike Miller with a respectable 35pts.

This was another competition to count towards the season-long Order of Merit. With just one more competition to go (October Fourball), it's very close at the top. John Butcher still leads the way on 43pts with Andrew Mead and Stuart Briginshaw just tucked in behind.

Keith Knight Cup
Despite good weather and the course in excellent condition, the Stableford scores for the twenty-one players in the Seniors Keith Knight Cup today were surprisingly low. Maybe we're all starting to feel our age!?!?!
The winner with what turned out to be an excellent 34pts was Monty Norman. Runner-up was Brian Faithfull who just edged out Geoff Denner on count-back after both carded 32pts.

Seniors Greensomes
Last Wednesday's competition for the seniors was a Greensomes Stableford with ten pairings competing for the prizes.
The winning duo were John Butcher & Mike Miller with a total of 40pts. Second place went to Tom Wallin & Liz Evans on 37pts followed by Mike Pritchard & Linda Vale just edging out John Christopher & Colin Tillett on count-back after both scored 36pts.

September Medal
A slightly chilly start for the September Medal today, but that soon changed and we were treated to a glorious summer's day - perfect for playing golf. A small field of just 10 players (9 men and 1 lady) played in one mixed division.
Thanks to the green-keeping staff for preparing the course in excellent condition.
The winner for the second month in a row was Dianne McIntyre with an excellent score of nett 67. Another handicap cut for Dianne!! Runner-up was Andrew Mead on nett 70 carding the lowest gross of the day of 79. Third place went to Stuart Briginshaw (nett 71).

There was a double rollover of the two's pool going into this month's competition and 2 two's were recorded today. Stuart Briginshaw on the 11th and Paul Tebbutt on the 8th. Both had entered the two's so shared the jackpot!!!
Just one more medal (October) to decide the Owen Millennium Trophy and Summer Medal Aggregate competitions. Steve Cobb still has a healthy lead in the Owen Millennium followed by Andrew Mead and John Baron. Dianne McIntyre now heads up the Summer Medal Aggregate competition with John Baron and Steve Cobb in close attendance. Full details below.

Seniors September Medal
Nineteen players (16 men and 3 ladies) for the September Seniors Medal today played in two mixed divisions.
In Division 1 Raymond Bilton was the winner with a score of nett 75. Runner-up was Sam Whiting 76 followed by Roy Whiting one shot further back.
Division 2 was dominated by Barry Heath with an excellent score of nett 67. This is the second consecutive medal that Barry has scored in the 60's and earns an Exceptional Scoring Reduction of 1 further shot to his handicap (now playing 15.7). Runner-up was Mike Miller with Bob Evans in third.

TEL - Week16
The Tuesday Evening League finally reached it's conclusion tonight after sixteen weeks of hard-fought but friendly competition. A total of 19 players took part in the event with an average of 12 players attending each week.
The winner of the weekly prize tonight was Dave Warwick with 19pts. Second was Tim Page on 18pts followed by Dianne McIntyre and Ian Martinez both on 17pts.
The Best7 competition was a very close run thing with half a dozen players in contention right up to the final week. In the end, Ian Martinez just managed to finish on top with a total of 127. Runner-up, just one point behind Ian, was John Baron followed by Roy Martinez on 125.
