Seniors Texas Scramble

Today's competition for the seniors was a Texas Scramble. Eleven teams of three played in the glorious sunshine and returned some excellent scores.
The winning team was Derrick Perrin, Stuart Briginshaw & Ken Croucher with a score of 55.4. Runners-up were Harry Jackson, Chris Piper & Jan Hinks (56.4), closely followed by Paul Tebbutt, Roy Whiting & Mike Pritchard ((56.8) in third place.

Tuesday Evening League - W12

Fifteen players for the Tuesday Evening League this evening, Nice warm temperatures again but a stiff north-westerly breeze just to make things a bit more interesting!! The good scores just keep on coming despite the handicaps getting lower!?
Tonight's winner with 21pts was Paul Tebbutt. Just one point behind was Ian Martinez followed by Stuart Briginshaw and Dave Warwick both on 19pts.
On the Best7 leader board, Dave Warwick leads the way with 132pts closely followed by Dean Butler on 130. Ian Martinez has climbed up into 3rd spot on 129 with Dianne McIntyre in 4th place on 125. It could be a very tight contest with only a few weeks left to play.

Captains Day

Seniors Four-Ball

Today's competition for the seniors was a four-ball better-ball Stableford with twelve pairings taking part. With the course running hard and fast, some excellent scores were returned, especially as it is off 3/4 handicap.
Today's winners with 46pts were the team of Paul Tebbutt & Mike Miller. The runners-up had to be decided on count-back with Steve Thompson & Les Eden just edging out John Butcher & Stuart Briginshaw after both scored 44pts.

Tuesday Evening League - W11

Week 11 of the Tuesday Evening League was played yesterday and once again, the weather was "scorch-io"!! Eleven players took part with varying degrees of success!
The weekly winner with an excellent 21pts was Dave Warwick. Runner-up was Roy Martinez with 18pts who just beat son Ian on count-back with the same score. Unfortunately(!?!), Ian managed to blob his last two holes to retain his current handicap.
The Best 7 table is now headed by both Dean Butler and Dave Warwick both tied on 130 with Dianne McIntyre not too far behind.

Seniors Bowmaker

The sun shone on the seniors again today!!! Nine teams of 3 played a Bowmaker Strokeplay competition (best two scores from three on each hole).
The winning team were Malcolm Passey, Mike Miller & Linda Vale who carded an impressive 126. Runners-up were Roy Whiting, Les Eden & Ken Croucher on 130, followed by John Clark, Richard Hook & Gordon Turner.
