Not so many this week but enjoyable and competitive all the same. Dave Warwick came out on top with 36 points, just reward for playing with Tim last week!!! Mark Richardson was second on count back, again, unlucky Nobby. The pairs competition was won by Bob Stevenson and myself with an aggregate of 69, well done Bob. And congratulations to myself for taking less than ten on the 14th ... one day too late!!! Tees are booked from 9:38 this coming Sunday.

What is a PAIRS competition??
ReplyDeleteQuite simply a competition where the winners are decided on a non individual basis. In this case i used the term as a means of best describing the event as it was neither a fourball better ball or a foursomes or whatever, but rather a random draw of completed scores which were ' paired ' up to provide an aggregate score of two players. If there exists a term for this format provided by the R and A and you know of it and can tell me i will be delighted to use it in future reports!! Did i hear someone say 'pedantic old fart' your comments always welcome Chris as would your company.
